This project for an outbuilding and landscaping in Aix-en-Provence is part of a global reflection on the relationship between architecture and the outdoors.
As an interior architect, the intervention consisted of designing a space complementary to the main dwelling, working on both volumes, circulation and the integration of the project into its environment.
The design helped structure the uses, enhance the existing garden, and create continuity between the interior and exterior spaces. The project was developed as part of a project management contract, from design to completion, integrating technical constraints and the specific characteristics of the site.
An entrepreneur living in Lyon was hesitating between extending his house and creating an outbuilding to accommodate his new, developing business.
We proposed a contemporary timber-framed structure that would allow for both rapid construction and the creation of a pleasing architectural volume, close to the family living space, garden, and swimming pool. This would be done in harmony with the local architecture and the surrounding landscape. Particular attention was paid to both the treatment of the facades and the choice of openings to preserve the privacy and comfort of family life, while also providing an efficient space for employees. The area adjacent to the outbuilding was redesigned with terraces, shaded living spaces, and a lap pool for the residence.
